Christoff9: I like having short hair, but this is fun for me
Thalia291: ha
Thalia291: to weird us out? ;-)
Christoff9: Yes!
Christoff9: THough my pubes are getting way too long
Christoff9: I cant wait to cut those
Christoff9: They are down to my ankles
Christoff9: I braided them yesterday
Thalia291: oh Chris :-)
Christoff9: What do you think... should I part them on the side or down the middle?
Thalia291: middle
Christoff9: Okay, it's a deal!
Self explanatory :-)

OK.... So you know you're a college student when you use shot glasses to guess at the dosage for cough syrup.
on to a more serious subject... so, evanston (and nu) seems to be suffereing from various crimes. Some interesting information has come to my attention:
"After suburban Evanston banned handguns in mid-1982, Evanston's robbery rate rose 8 percent the following year (while nationwide suburban areas experienced a 20 percent decline and the U.S. rate declined 16 percent)." ~Shooting Straight
Interesting ;-). (I told you guys I was republican. . . ) But in anycase, food for thought. Not that I'm saying all NU students need to go out and buy handguns. Just that this is an interesting little tidbit.
I saw Chris's pictures today... ah! his hair is so long! And I miss him and Jim and Kenny soooooo much after seeing their pictures. maybe it's because it had been awhile since I had seen them that mad it different? I don't know. I can't wait til Winter quarter when Jim and Matt and Mathias and I and others get to chill in Kaffeestunde together! PARTY TIME! FETE ZEIT!
Jim, if you're reading this, I recorded Karl's first cast to a tape and I'll send it along shortly. The tape says pooja. because.
hmmmmm... that's about it so far :-)
and she was
It has come to my attention that I forgot to mention another birthday...
the 25th was Seren's birthday. YAY SEREN! He's so important, he gets an entire post dedicated to the fact that his birthday was saturday. wooohooo!
See you, Space Cowboy ;-)
Yay for Sundays. So slow and nice, even if they're always 95% work.
I've decided, after listening to Poop Chute Riot's #1 hit, Sam Likes It (in the butt), that I miss Chris and his breadmaker making all of the 4th floor and stairwells smell like bread. I am therefore now bidding on breadmakers on ebay. Woohoo! God bless ebay.
and happy birthday to Laura and Evan. Laura the 26th, Evan the 27th. Yay for birthdays!
Speaking of birthdays, there are WAY too many birthdays in these 2 weeks. geeeeez.
Also, I am learning to knit. in case you people back home didn't know that ;-) For those of you here, if anyone is interested in creating a "stitch and bitch" group with me.. basically, get together once a week to just complain, let me know! I think it's a fabulous idea and everyone needs to be able to vent! it doesn't even have to be once a week... like, every other week or once a month. just something to chill.
Ok, I'm thinking it's bed time. at least, time to read social psych til I fall asleep. yay for being like 3 chapters behind.
you're the one thing I can't get enough of... OR
I had the time of my life... and I OWE IT ALL TO YOU (the part where patrick is lip synching and nods his head along with each word... awwwwwwww!)

JOY!!!!
So I just found out that next weekend, not only will I be able to hang out with Amy and Glen... but also STACY and possibly JON AND ALEX!!!!
wooohoooooo!
Dancin' in the streets!
sorry for the massive delay, but I had midterm and essay. So that pretty much sums up my life until friday.
Friday I spent cleaning and I went over to Sam's to do some work.
THEN! PARTY for Wizzer... friends of Nafis, but not altogether a bad party.
BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY AND AMAZINGLY....
NAFIS IS THE HOMECOMING KING!!!!!!!! YAY NAFIS!!
Also, we beat wisconsin! haha! it was totally work waking up at 9:30 to get up to Ryan Field. and now Nafis has the best pimp crown ever. it's great. Nafis is hilarious... when they announced him the winner he just started jumping all over the place. I'm going to miss him next year :-(. But we still have awhile before this one ends....
I then took a nap that lasted til 8... then Nafis cooked Bengali (?) food for dinner. It was pretty good... I didn't realize that Indians or Bengalis didn't use and silverware...
Then, party for Jim (fenner) and Dan. I dressed like Jim and pretty much just look like a lesbian. then again, that's according to sam, so he's probably just messing with me.
I probably could make this much more interesting and detailed, however, I am tired and think I might be becoming sick? So I'm kind of typing and then staring off into space... while watching a Popeye Marathon on Cartoon Network. I guess I should clean my room. le sigh.

Ahhhhh, tuesdays. Why are they always so stressful? I don't *really* have anything going on, it just always seems to be that my classes converge on me. Elizabeth and I finished our linguistics homework exactly ONE minute before running out the door to get to class. arrrggggghhhhh. AND Tomorrow = Calc Midterm.
Obviously, I'm not too worried about it. I just need to make sure I remember everything.
On the bright side.... ITUNES!!!!! Rocks my world. Now I just have to figure out how to steal music from the people I'm listening to ;-). For those of you who do not know the wonder that is itunes, it's a mac program that not only organizes music perfectly, but also allows you to listen to other people's music as long as you're on the same network. MARVELOUS!
Life in general is pretty good. I'm pretty calm for being behind in all my classes ;-). I need to start working out. Amy works out and makes me feel guilty. ;-)
Geeeez, for being so busy I certainly don't have much to talk about. I wonder if I should do study abroad. I've always thought that I didn't need to... but now I'm actually considering it more. it would be AMAZING to do... and I'd really love to. hmmmmmmmm. I'm going to go research it.
Let's do the time warp again.

Speck Porn
Yeah so ANOTHER one of my friends ran across the speck porn file and talked to me about it. For the record, for those of you at NU, there is a porn file that is titled speckporn, however it's not me. Which is obvious after the first couple of seconds into it... but just trust me on this. It's frustrating though, every time this comes up.
On the bright side, today was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Highs reached the mid 80s... fabulous!
15 minutes til Chapter... well, dinner... hooray!
Yay for good weather and naps :-)
I like Candy.
Changing time. Letting you all know, that Nafis is up for Homecoming King, so you should vote for him, and tell everyone you know, including that person you see walking down Sheridan a lot, to vote for him.
Also, YAYNESS for the fact that Amy called me this evening! Hurrah for her! :-) I'm trying to go to purdue (with Eliot) for the purdue/northwestern game, so if you have a car and feel like going to purdue, let me know!
Dangit, I was totally going to just go to bed and not rewrite my post. and yeah, I'll explain the weekend tomorrow.
I need you here by me, not way over, in a bucket seat.
So, I had a big long post detailing my weekend and stuff and things, but I accidentally deleted it. Now I'm going to bed and you all are just going to have to cry until I rewrite it all. Because I don't feel like it now.
I have a brain... I just took it out so it wouldn't get wet.

An Ode to Nafis, in the form of a Haiku:
Three cheers for Nafis
The precious Bengali boy
Oh how I love him.
So, I ate dinner with Nafis tonight. Also with a bunch of other people (Evan, Anthony, Ben, Kevin, Doug, Karl, Peter, Mike, Courtney, and Sam), but of course, Nafis was the most important.
Now, Nafis is seeing Play it Again Sam. I wish I could be there with him.
Luckily, I get to go see Kill Bill (again!) with him tonight! (and the above mentioned people, plus a couple others).
Kill Bill is a good movie, violent, but good. Miriam doesn't like the violence. That is ok.
So, back to Nafis. He is cool.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!
TODAY IS THE BEST DAY EVER!
MISS HUGHES (the most perfect, wonderful, nicest, sweetest, etc person in the whole world) IS ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!
OH HAPPY DAY!!
SMILES TO EVERYONE!

This will have to be short, because I have so frikin much german to do. Today was pretty basic, not special or anything. I, uh, cleaned my room up a bit. So yeah, dull day.
I ran into a kid on my bike today. Whoops ;-).
I want a Jeep. They're SO MUCH FUN! But not very practical in Chicago, land of the cold. Oh well.
I have to get to work. Before I'm up all night.
BUT! one really cool thing:
Fabulousness
:-)
Deutschland ist toll.
So yeah. You all know the Cubs lost. BUT... next year they'll win ;-). Hopefully. Miriam and I are taking donations from anyone who wants to buy us season tickets!
Interestingly enough, Sam was the calmest I have seen him throughout the game. He barely spoke, and when it was over, he just went into his room and started working. I think he was just stunned. Poor Sam. Poor Ewiot. :-(
I don't think I'm getting any homework done tonight... I got a bunch done at 7C (that's Sam and Anthony's apt.) but then we had tea and I stopped working :-).
Speaking of tea... and food... I GET MY FRIDGE THIS WEEKEND! THE PEOPLE REJOICE!
And thank you all, for explaining to me what blog means :-)
Chris was happy that I updated this so I'm going to try to be as faithful as possible. Which shouldn't be too hard, considering I'm always looking for distractions...
So, the major search just kind of got broadened... mostly just because I don't want to give anything up. Feel free to let me know whether you think Sociology or Psychology would be a more applicable major. (just between the two... not comparing to anything else). Besides those, I'm considering German, Econ, and Linguistics. :/. Le sigh.
I'm in a very slow, bleh mood right now. I think I'm just going to go to bed. grarg. Goody for getting behind in psych and therefore screwing myself over on the 2nd midterm! Next week will be fun, because I have my first Calc midterm, a German essay due, and a German quiz. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. However, the Calc should go well ;-). It's just my stupid grammar that I still need lots of help on. I wish I could just magically know it all. I would seriously feel 7 million times more confident if I just knew more cases of nouns. Because I've got the crappy charts down. I just have to look up every other word in the dictionary. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr.
Sleep is a privilege

Unbelievable.
Granted, I'm not a hardcore cubs fan... but seriously, please don't say anything joking or mean about the cubs. I've been around sam too much and I think it's rubbing off.
Loser(because I shouldn't use any more colorful language...)
I also didn't do very well on my psych midterm. ALSKDdfjasldj. Oh well.
Tomorrow is a new day...

It's raining.
I'm wet.
HOWEVER, I think I just realized why everyone is addicted to these live-journal things... it's pure procrastination! Right now, I could be doing several important and necessary things, most importantly, my linguistics homework. Instead, I choose to log on to this and complain about the rain. And me having to bike up to Annenberg in it. Without a raincoat, because although I've lived in Chicago for a year, I still haven't bought one.
At least I have my bike! :-)
I love tuesdays, because they are so slow for me. I have lots of time to do fun stuff, like, sleep! ;-) and THIS tuesday will be great, because the CUBS play tonight! Fingers crossed, I hope it doesn't get rained out.
Does anyone know why this is called a blog? just curious... it was the only free one that I could find.
I'm singing, and dancing in the rain!

Ok, so I'm a tool.
But I do have a reason for weakening and creating a blog... it's so everyone can be updated in my life, and people don't get mad at me when they don't know I got sick and was in the hospital ;-) (sorry about that). So everyone will be happy!
And maybe I won't be so much of a tool...
Although I do have a social psych midterm tomorrow. wheeeeeeee. I should be reading. AH HA HA HA HA HA.
My mommy came and visited me this weekend! it was much fun, even though we couldn't get a hold of each other friday evening/night b/c her cell phone wasn't working and she forgot my number. But ah well. Saturday was nice. And now I have my bike/ comforter!
Also, to explain the title: Chris came up with it... it's supposed to sound like sex machine, if you didn't pick up on that ;-). So if you don't like it, blame him! hehe.
To everyone I haven't talked to... I miss you and I hope you're having great falls, whereever you are!
To the books!
