So winter finally decided to come... ARG! IT'S SO FRIKIN COLD OUTSIDE! and windy besides, of course. Basically, it sucks. And I spent all day without a hat because I lost it (I found it later at KD) but that made for a very cold class time. I'm guessing I'm going to have to give up the bike soon. :-( My poor little cheeks were dying!

On the bright side, I declared my German Major! I have a major! HURRAH! HURRAH! HURRAH! *grin* For such a stressful and complicated decision, the actual action was anti climatic. All I did was go and tell the german advisor that I wanted to declare a german major and then I filled out a sheet that was basically my name, address, and what year/college I was in. Then I dropped it off at the undergraduate office. Done. Craziness.

GAH! The "feels like" temperature is 16 degrees. Fahrenheit. Yesterday I was walking around without a jacket! DEATH TO CHICAGO! DEATH TO EVANSTON BEING ON THE LAKE! I HATE WIND! J/k. I love Chicago. and the lake. just not right now. I turned on my radiator and now it is giving off a slightly burning smell. I really hope I don't set something on fire. I can just see myself coming back from a meeting on class and willard being burned down because I put my bed right next to the radiator and it erupted in flames. Whoops ;-). it's a funny thought though... that would just take the cake of all my accidents.

I'm going to start studying now. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Take a crap (take the crown)

WOAH!

After my last post, I went to my WNUR meetings, which finished in just enough time for me to slip into Leverone Aud. for Ann Coulter. While her speech was fine, and I learned that she knows approx. nothing about religion, she actually stayed to listen to and answer everyone's questions. And then stayed even longer for pictures and to sign books and things. Now I respect this a lot, considering there are many speakers who come here and then just scoot out as soon as possible. Yay for her. In any case, the wonderful and marvelous Sarah Isgur saw me as I was sitting there (towards the end) and motioned for me to come and sit by her. We started talking and I found out that 1. Sarah is AWESOME ;-) which I knew already... and 2. she was sitting there with Ann Coulter's purse and coat in her lap! like, woah. Making a long story relatively shorter, she took a picture of Ann and myself with her camera and then as I was going to leave stopped me and kept talking to me and then offered me a ride with her boyfriend (? well, almost boyfriend) who was also dropping Ann off at her hotel. AHHHHH. Alison's first famous person experience! I can totally see why Pooja loves meeting famous people. It's surreal. And Ann is very nice and hilarious in person. Plus, she was amazed by the students who attended her speech because no one asked any stupid questions.

It makes me think... we have David Schwimmer, known for being funny and cute as Ross, however he's completely full of himself and bleh. And then Ann Coulter, a person half the nation hates, is very friendly and willing to talk to anyone. Regardless of the extremety of some of her opinions, I respect her a lot just for staying that long (til after 11) to answer questions and talk to students.

This weekend I went to Purdue, lots of fun... except I didn't get any sleep. Well, some. I think my favorite quote for the whole weekend was friday night after eliot had drank a 40 in like, less than 45 min and said: "The room is spinning... it's a mix of pleasure and pain... a swirly mix of pleasure and pain.............. ohhhhhhh shit." and then dropped his head on a couch. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA it was hilarious. Also when we were coming back on the south shore line this morning and eliot decided he didn't want seren to sleep so started singing Pavement songs and telling seren random (true and untrue) facts about Stephen whatever his last name is's life.

It was also good and fun to see all my Evansville people! I miss you guys a lot sometimes and it was wonderful to be able to see and catch up a bit with you :-). Besides my wonderful brother Sunil, Emily Angle and Jessica Starke were there! Woah! totally didn't realize they were going to be there. It was great seeing them :-). I'm not going to go through and mention all the debaters I saw, but know that I LOVE YOU!

So, right now I'm eating Pasta Anytime and I spilled some of the sauce on my floor, which had a white tshirt on it, and on my desk and mouse. whoops. Chris will appreciate this... Sam might, if he even reads this ;-).

Now I guess I should get to work, considering I have a heck of a lot to do. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

To close, our motto this weekend:

We're on a tight schedule... NO MARGIN FOR ERROR!!

Hanging out.

I can't wait to go to purdue this weekend! woohoo! :-)

now I just have to organize myself, etc. so that I don't screw myself over by leaving this weekend. le sigh. 2 projects due next week... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

On the bright side, I'm going to declare my major very, very soon. YAY! I feel so good. Other than that, I don't have too much else to say. . . nothing is happening. Thanksgiving is almost here... JOY!

My room needs to be cleaned... and I want to make bread. I think tonight is a stay in night. hmmmm. Or something. WNUR meetings first.

I WANT MY FAERIE TALE THEATER MOVIES!

speaking of movies... GO SEE LOVE ACTUALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the BEST movie EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER. Now all I have to do is hear the "all I want for christmas" song and it just gives me happy bubbles all over. You really need to see it. Also Elf is pretty funny.

Hmmmm, it's poker night. I just remembered that. we will see what happens. Sam the jerk probably will have too much work to do.

Sam likes it in da butt.

I just woke up from a nap, which was actually short... less than an hour, I believe. Only now my head is all fuzzy and weird so what better way to wake up than to babble on here :-). blarg.

So the biggest victim of hate crimes here actually made them up. Geeez. Amy (Kiley's) profile has a good quote on it: "It shouldn't take an act of hate to bring together a community." And that's true. Supposedly this Xander kid just wanted to get minorities active against hate, so that's why he made it up. Unbelieveable. There's stuff on CNN and of course in the Daily or on hereandnow for those of you who are interested... but the Chron has the best article... or, a good one. Daily's is too short. go here

People are stupid.

On the bright side, I might have a major now! *look of shock* But seriously... I'm thinking International Studies (which is an adhoc major) with German. I'm pretty sure it'll leave me enough room to take some other classes AND studying abroad would be TOTALLY applicable. Does this make sense? Give meyour opinions. :-)

Calc midterm tomorrow. I have faith in myself though... I'll work on it soon, once I finish waking up.

I'm good at updating things. AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. But people are yelling at me, so I'll post something quick before I move onto homework.

Things have been crazy busy lately, as you probably have figured out.

Friday was formal... SO MUCH FUN!!!! I have TONS of pictures, which I want to post online... I'm taking suggestions for a free website I can use. Anyone, anyone? In anycase, it was marvleous. tons of dancing and the food was fantastic. Even the freezing ride on the ferris wheel was great!

yesterday I took a walking architechtural tour of Chicago loop. At 9 am. In very cold drizzle/rain. In German. Cold and wet, but interesting. Did you know Chicago was planning on building the world's tallest building? It would have been really cool and spiral and stuff... but then 9/11 happened and they got scared. Curse the terrorists... I want the tallest building in my city!

Today I slept through my classes. GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGG!
Bad for multiple reasons: 1. Calc midterm on wednesday. 2. I DON'T NEED TO MISS ANY MORE CLASS! Now taking suggestions for ways of being able to wake up on time. I think I'm going to attempt to get myself on schedule where I wake up the same time every day. Bad thing is, I think that time is going to have to be 10 am.

mmmmm, I have to go now. Before I do, however, I'm going to post how to get rid of the virus that I so marvelously got and gave to lots of people:
To fix: download adaware and run it. 2nd step: hit ctrl alt delete, go to processes, and then hit end process on a something that says "b". then go to my computer, c drive, windows and find the b file and completely delete it. as in, empty recycle bin after you have deleted it. All will be fixed and you can dance merrily.

Some days you gotta dance!

Ok, a million and one things have happened since I last posted... as a brief update...

Tuesday night (or wednesday morning ;-)) at Midnight I threw a surprise birthday party for Sam... yay for him being 21 and able to buy me.... books. ;-) I also baked him a cake! Soon, I will figure out how to post pictures here, if I can? or somewhere on the internet. The problem is that my pictures are large files, therefore good for printing/blowing up, but bad for posting on internet. So I'm going to have to find a way to either buy a place with lots of memory, or just I don't know. cry.

mmmm wednesday was sam's birthday, but the best part was my party :-)

Thursday, I don't think much happened? Oh, Miriam had to go home to visit doctor/get mri. Something might be wrong with her neck. VERY BAD. I miss her much! Also, thursday night the German Department had a showing of Nosferatu... which was the MOST POINTLESS MOVIE EVER. It's about Dracula... but, like, nobody wins. It's just stupid. and they kept having these really drawn out scenes of him like standing there. Or walking. Or this chick walking on the beach. Messed up. Then again, it was made in the 70s in Germany ;-).

Friday = HALLOWEEN! which was marvelous fun. I was a bleeding heart liberal, and amy kiley was a republican... so we got to make fun of each others political parties. Willard had trick or treating and decorating and such (kind of a make-up Francis Willard Party) For those of you not from Northwestern who are not familiar with Francis Willard, she is the founder of our dorm who was also a leader in the temperance movements. So for the past 30 years, Willard has celebrated her birthday (oct 17 or 18 or something?) by throwing a huge, dorm wide party, which is basically the whole dorm gets drunk and parties together. SO. MUCH. FUN. Unfortunately, this year, even though NU spent millions of dollars renovating Willard, it still lacks adequate "fire exits" or something to that effect. Which EVERY dorm, sorority, fraternity, res college, etc. lacks. We just got the brunt of it b/c they hate us. In anycase, back to halloween, trick or treating in willard, SAI for Amy's birthday party, back to willard, up north to some party, back to willard :-). Later, I had a bunch of WNUR people and a couple of non-wnurians to my room for some cooling down :-). Fabulous fun.

Saturday, I was supposed to go to purdue, but because approx. every single part of my plan fell apart, except for my bus ticket, I decided after much thought not to go. :-( Therefore, it was the Weekend of Efficiency. Funny, it didn't even feel that efficient. I STILL have a ton to read. wheeeeeeeeeeee.

Today is sunday. work. I'm making bread now. it'll be ready in one hour and 42 min. study break! now, I think I'm going to do some german assignments and then get back to psych. blarg.
