WOAH!
After my last post, I went to my WNUR meetings, which finished in just enough time for me to slip into Leverone Aud. for Ann Coulter. While her speech was fine, and I learned that she knows approx. nothing about religion, she actually stayed to listen to and answer everyone's questions. And then stayed even longer for pictures and to sign books and things. Now I respect this a lot, considering there are many speakers who come here and then just scoot out as soon as possible. Yay for her. In any case, the wonderful and marvelous Sarah Isgur saw me as I was sitting there (towards the end) and motioned for me to come and sit by her. We started talking and I found out that 1. Sarah is AWESOME ;-) which I knew already... and 2. she was sitting there with Ann Coulter's purse and coat in her lap! like, woah. Making a long story relatively shorter, she took a picture of Ann and myself with her camera and then as I was going to leave stopped me and kept talking to me and then offered me a ride with her boyfriend (? well, almost boyfriend) who was also dropping Ann off at her hotel. AHHHHH. Alison's first famous person experience! I can totally see why Pooja loves meeting famous people. It's surreal. And Ann is very nice and hilarious in person. Plus, she was amazed by the students who attended her speech because no one asked any stupid questions.
It makes me think... we have David Schwimmer, known for being funny and cute as Ross, however he's completely full of himself and bleh. And then Ann Coulter, a person half the nation hates, is very friendly and willing to talk to anyone. Regardless of the extremety of some of her opinions, I respect her a lot just for staying that long (til after 11) to answer questions and talk to students.
This weekend I went to Purdue, lots of fun... except I didn't get any sleep. Well, some. I think my favorite quote for the whole weekend was friday night after eliot had drank a 40 in like, less than 45 min and said: "The room is spinning... it's a mix of pleasure and pain... a swirly mix of pleasure and pain.............. ohhhhhhh shit." and then dropped his head on a couch. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA it was hilarious. Also when we were coming back on the south shore line this morning and eliot decided he didn't want seren to sleep so started singing Pavement songs and telling seren random (true and untrue) facts about Stephen whatever his last name is's life.
It was also good and fun to see all my Evansville people! I miss you guys a lot sometimes and it was wonderful to be able to see and catch up a bit with you :-). Besides my wonderful brother Sunil, Emily Angle and Jessica Starke were there! Woah! totally didn't realize they were going to be there. It was great seeing them :-). I'm not going to go through and mention all the debaters I saw, but know that I LOVE YOU!
So, right now I'm eating Pasta Anytime and I spilled some of the sauce on my floor, which had a white tshirt on it, and on my desk and mouse. whoops. Chris will appreciate this... Sam might, if he even reads this ;-).
Now I guess I should get to work, considering I have a heck of a lot to do. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
To close, our motto this weekend:
We're on a tight schedule... NO MARGIN FOR ERROR!!
Specks Machine
nothing special... just random bits of my life so people don't forget me.
