Quick pre-chapter update.

I have about 15 minutes before Chapter Dinner starts at KD so I'm going to utlize this time to be productive and update my blog :-).

Valentine's Day was WONDERFUL! We went out for Sushi dinner and then went back to Sam's apartment, where he had baked me a BLACK FOREST CHERRY CAKE!!!!!!!! Which, for anyone who doesn't know my passion for these, is the MOST DELICIOUS, WONDERFUL cake in the entire world. And universe. So we ate it and watched Casablanca. awwwwwwwwwwwwww :-)

While sam was making the cake, the first time he tried to make the frosting he put too much alcohol in it and ended up making butter. So we now know how to make homemade butter and later saturday night, when a few people had gathered in 1B for chilling out times, we made butter using everclear. hehehehe. (for those of you who are worried, the butter doesn't end up being alcoholic, the acohol just acts as a destabilizing agent that separates the fat out of the heavy cream... then you strain it all off and you're left with homemade butter!)

Sunday morning we had "lumberjack breakfast" consisting of bacon, pancakes, cornbread muffins, potatoes, and stuff. deeeelicious. Also fun because the guys dressed up like lumberjacks. I spend the rest of sunday cleaning my room, making decorations for my pledge baby's door, and reading. It actually ended up being a fairly productive day.

Today is insanely UNproductive. I somehow managed to completely sleep through my alarm and only woke up at 1:30 when Sam called me to walk with him to class. Awwww! Next quarter we're going to have a class together! I told him we are going to sit next to each other and pass love notes and such. He got really excited! ;-)

Agh. I also just finished getting all of my tuition stuff in order... my dad, being the never-on-top-of-it person he is, decided to keep forgetting about paying it. (even though the bills had been here since december and supposedly given to his attorny then) ah well. it's all in order now.

ooooo! NU kids... did you know there is an Einsteins up north that takes points? Eliot and I went there today... it = awesome. and it's pretty much right next to Annenberg, so if you have a class there, I strongly reccommend it.

That pretty much sums up my weekend. Except for Burg's party, which was a lovely evening of drunken festivities. No need for much explanation except for the fact that I found my favorite shot... a grasshopper. dude. Those are FANTASTIC. In anycase, have lovely weeks, happy mondays and all that other stuff :-)

Seeing as it's 4:16 and I have been laying in my bed for a good hour plus, I've given up trying to sleep. Time for a good old-fashioned update.

Monday was my birthday, hip hip hooray! Wonderfulness... Sam, My mom, and Miriam all got me flowers because they love me :-). Also, sam got me Casablanca and Under the Tuscan Sun... whoohoo! but now he has to watch at least Casablanca with me. mwa ha ha.

aaaaaaaaand... I've been really busy. Go figure. But I honestly think things should calm down soon? knock on wood. seriously... I don't have another midterm for a good weekish, and I'm just slightly behind in my classes. like, it's past the point of me having to spend entire days on just one class; now I can spend parts on different classes. which is good. Yay for non-marathon World Systems reading.

SPEAKING OF WORLD SYSTEMS... midterm was AWFUL. 75 minutes to write 5 short answers (short meaning 1 or 2 paragraphs... bleh) and two, yes TWO essays. GAH. I almost died. Debaters will appreciate the fact that I actually cross applied in my second essay. Seriously. This is what it looked like:
blah blah blah treaties were important. See my answer to part one number 6, pact sunt servanda. as you can see, this greatly blah blah blah. DEATH. hopefully you're allowed to crossapply on midterms ;-).

let's see, what else has been going on. oh yeah! I have a pledge baby now! I'm very excited but I'm not going to say anything about it because just on the random chance she could read this it would ruin the fun of the secret!

speaking of KD.. I talked to Saira today on the phone for a good hourish. it was fun! She's a great person and I wish our paths crossed more often so we could have tons of crazy fun!

There is really no reason I shouldn't be tired right now. I exercised a lot today, I was tired this afternoon, I don't know what is going on. sooooooooooo confused. LET ME SLEEP. any ideas for drugs I can take to knock me out? ;-) just kidding. oooo! maybe there's a change in the weather and it'll warm up! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA (and so on) yeah.

la la la. Alison is bored. she needs to go to sleep. I guess I could be using this time to be productive. hmmmm. maybe I'll go read. woohoo!
