la la la
So I have about 10 minutes before we're meeting downstairs to go shopping. I figured I might as well update you on the goings on these past, uh, 2 days?
Dinner w/ the Mitbewohners turned out great! With only one or two mishaps... Dominik made this shrimp cocktail thing that actually tasted good (I don't like shrimp, and I like it!). The mishaps happened when he put two of them in the door to our fridge, on a shelf that isn't stable to begin with and they were in two martini glasses. So when he opened the door a bit later, one fell out and shattered on the floor = cannot be consumed b/c we weren't sure if there was glass in it or not. Then when Anne came home, the same happened with the other one, so we ended up splitting the two survivors. But quite delicious. I'll have to get that recipe from him. :-) For the meal, I made german pfannkuchen (pancakes, but not really) and anne made a salad. The Pfannkuchen turned out a bit too thick, but I think that's because Leander decided that the batter was too thin (even though I followed directions exactly) and so added about another half or 2/3 of a cup of flour. So then when we made them, they were more towards american pancakes and less like german pancakes, and so you couldn't roll them up, like they would usually do. We ate them w/ mushrooms and onions and cheese. Which took me forever to figure out what they were talking about because they kept referring to gowdah... didn't think I knew that word until I saw them write it down and it was gouda. and then I knew they were talking about cheese. Minor story ;-).
Last night we went out to dinner w/ Megan's family (mom, dad, brother) at our favorite italian place here, La Piazza. Muy delicioso. Then we came back and ate oreos (they're really expensive here, but Jayme's mom sent her a box FULL of them) and drank milk and played siedler. Good times :-). Then chit chat until everyone dispersed and went to bed.
This week I think was stressful for everyone because we're all exhausted and not really in the mood to do much. Except go shopping! Gotta run!
